SYLVANIA QUICKTRONIC PROStart programmed rapid start electronic ballasts operate linear and U-bend equivalent T8 lamps in applications where extended lamp life is required. QUICKTRONIC PROStart ballasts utilize a micro-controller based circuit to apply a precise amount of cathode heat prior to starting the lamp. This ensures that the cathodes have reached optimum temperature before the lamp is started. Once the lamp is ignited the ballast reduces the amount of cathode heat to the optimum level to assure long lamp life. This coil heat reduction also has the added advantage of energy savings over typical electronic rapid start ballasts. All SYLVANIA Professional Series (QTP) of electronic ballasts feature high power quality (<10% THD) lightweight low profile designs.
